Psst!!
Did you know?

Money habits are set from as early as the age of 7!

Established Money Advice Service research has revealed that many of our fundamental habits and attitudes towards money are already established by the age of 7 and can be difficult to reverse later in life.

Nestlums is intentionally designed to foster this learning process, while maintaining a consistently fun and enjoyable experience!

Parents use a secret-mode to update the toy balance!

Nestlums does not connect to any bank account or card, and no actual money is touched at all. Parents have a secret-mode and can change the balance manually on the toy. It has been designed purely as a way to keep tabs on the pocket money you give to your child in real life, and to help them appreciate the value of it more deeply.

Made by parents,
for parents and their kids!

Nestlums is brought to you by a team of parents who worked with Santander on their kids’ banking products and have made critically acclaimed children’s education apps, including an award-nominated pocket money training app for kids.

Our Top Three Nestlums Money Lessons!

Established research shows that, by the age of 7, children have already developed basic financial literacy that can shape their lifelong understanding of money and finance.

Parents! Try and have a parent-to-child conversation at least once a week when using your Nestlums. The more you expose your child to the below key lessons, the more their basic understanding of money will develop.

  • When you give your child real pocket money, make sure they get their Nestlum and you show them how their tracked balance increases in front of their eyes.

  • Make sure your child takes their Nestlum out shopping. When they spend money, guide them through the impact by showing them how their Nestlum balance has reduced.

  • Teach them the difference between the BIG numbers and the SMALL numbers on their Nestlum. This is hard for children, at such a young age, to visualise.
